Art is made, not generated
That statement might not resonate with you, which is fair, but I can't help but wonder what the effects of AI "art" have on us and actual artists who suffer under what feels like a bit of an epidemic.
I don't know about you but I can hardly find any inspiration on Pinterest, or art on etsy, Instagram posts, kids youtube videos etc that are not AI generated and it feels kind of dystopian to be honest.
At first it seems alright, but then you start to notice the odd lines, the unauthentic-ness of it sort of speak.
I say unauthentic and that sounds quite harsh, but the truth is, it is stolen work.
A compilation of other people's work that has been mashed together to give you a new beast, and I genuinely wonder how they must feel under this new boom of AI.
It's so hard to get a grip on and to see it as honest work, cause unlike editing something of someone else, photoshopping and all that, you could actually ask the artist for their permission, and you should!
But with this, it just takes, and nobody is concerned who's it is or where it has come from..
No copyright infringements, no accountability, no justice.
I don't know, these are just concerns I walk around with, but I can't imagine how it must feel for the small artists around the world trying to make their mark, dealing with something of this scale and not being able to get your art seen in this flood of "fake"(?)
